Apologies to Walt Whitman

nyykiI don’t need to contradict myself to contain multitudes. Some of the people contained in me are:
• A musician, composer, songwriter, and sound designer
• A writer with a penchant for writing dialog
• A blind woman
• A recovering computer geek, probably faded down to power user status by now
• A girlfriend in waiting (and waiting, and waiting and…)
• A receptacle for a off-kilter sense of humor that tends to the dry
• A voracious reader
• A human being saddled with adjectives, most of which I’m not in the least married to
I am also so very much more than the above entities. I don’t want to own any of those labels, the act of defining something or someone also defines what that thing or person is not at the same time.
So the real answer is, what is contained with in me is me, more a verb than a noun, because I act upon the world, not just occupy space like persons, places, things, or ideas.
I’m sure some of you see far more things in me. That’s as it should be, because your experience of me is unique to you and I have no right to get in the way of that. Still, with a tip of the hat to Robbie Burns, if you feel the desire to inform me of what you see from your perspective, that’s a great use of the reply button.

Date: 2025-05-15 08:59 pm (UTC)Welcome. I believe that any social interaction is built on five core concepts -- honesty, communication, affection, acceptance, and compatibility. Since in a two person relationship (note that I'm not capitalizing the word, so this isn't only about the big R types) there is A to B and B to A, but also A to A and B to B. Ergo, a person has an easier time if they're honest, openly (ugh, another adverb) communicative, disposed in a positive way, self-accepting, and acting in a manner where their actions and thoughts are compatible with self-perception and self-image. This means that I strive to communicate honestly with myself in a loving way that's also consistent with who I've created to be me at this point in the particular reality I think I exist in . Make sense?
