Buddy Patrol
Jan. 23rd, 2007 05:54 pmSo, the Guide Dog school sent someone out to see me back in late November. Guardian had a nasty ear fungus, (common on flop eared dogs) and so they told me to make sure I got him to the vet and I made sure to take care of that as soon as I could. It's all cleared up now, and he's feeling fine.
Today I get a call from the school, and they wanted to tell me they had an instructor coming to Oklahoma and then down to my area, and asked if I needed any work with a trainer while they were here. I politely begged off, as he's doing great, and got some information from them about some things I needed from the school. But the first thing that the person on the phone asked me was how his ears were doing and what the vet gave me for them.
No other guide dog school has this much after care for the dogs and handlers, and I'm very pleased that I picked them to get my dog. He rocks, they rock, and assuming I don't get my sight back before the eight to ten years are up that a normal dog works, I'll definitely get another one from there.
